Here at Prince Baron records we like bringing you the brightest upcoming artists around, well it’s the new year so that means we have a whole twelve months of new music and great songs to look forward to. So without further ado, I’ve gathered a little list together of which artists are going to be hot property in 2012.
King Charles
If you’re looking for a new indie hero for 2012 look no further than the English, singer-song writer from West London.
Now I’ve really been excited about this artist for a while after hearing the single ‘Bam bam’ back in December and have been hooked ever since. The look of King Charles is…hmmm…how can I say this… tremendous! Bigger hair than Marge Simpson and a moustache only outdone by Tom Selleck. However his striking appearance is only second to his great music.
Charles formerly of the band Adventure playground, toured with Noah and the whale and Laura Marling before disbanding in 2008. King Charles music is fun, upbeat and melodic. Full to the brim with catchy backing vocals for you to sing along to as well as beautifully crafted lyrics such as;
“You’ve the strength of the Greeks,
You are god’s master piece,
You are every triumph, every victory,
I believe in every breath you breathe.”
Surely though this is to be expected from the 2010 winner of the international song writing competition and classically trained singer.
With an upcoming album recorded in Hollywood expected to be released in early spring, King Charles will surely reign the Indie charts of 2012.
Daley 
Singer -song writer Daley 22 from Sale, Manchester has one truly amazing voice, so very powerful and full of soul.
I came across Daley when listening to The Gorrilaz track ‘Doncamatic’ in which he features and I was blown away by this unique voice. Daley has gone on to feature in a number of musical cameos for such artist as; Emeli Sande, Wretch 32 and Estelle. However this year I believe he will receive the credit he is due from his solo work.
In august last year he released his 10 track mix-tape via his website for free download. I think it’s a great piece of work and well worth a listen, with a special mention for ’let it go’ which is possibly the coolest track not on your I-pod.
Another artist with big hair and big talent, I expect things only to get better for this guy, and he thoroughly deserves it. Go check him out!
Goyte
Much is anticipated from Wouter ‘Wally’ De Backer aka Goyte in 2012. The Belgian Born – Australian act had major success with ‘Somebody that I used to know’ released back in July 2011. The single went to the top of the alternative charts in 2011 and has stayed there since, and rightly so. A great piece of refreshing music which unites many different music fans in its appreciation. With this success I believe Goyte will be able to create many more hits for us in 2012, plus we can all expect more exotically, beautiful and darn right strange videos to accompany each hit.
Lana Del Rey
The beautiful American singer -song writer is set to own 2012 in which her debut album Born to die is released. The excitement of New Yorker, Del Rey within the music world has been somewhat ridiculous in recent months and she has been dubbed as a ‘self styled gangsta Nancy Sinatra’ lets just hope the talented artist can live up to the hype!
